Governor Brian Kemp had get out the vote rally on the Alpharetta Green and was joined by Virgina Governor Glenn Youngkin. Below is a brief on the event.
GA Campaign 2022
Brian Kemp's campaign scheduled a get out the vote event in Alpharetta to inspire voters to head to the polls in November. The event was scheduled from 3:00 to 4:00 on September 27th. The Alpharetta Green is a square styled section of Downtown Alpharetta that
has views down Main Street, of the Alpharetta City Hall, and surrounding buildings that are restaurants, small businesses and apartments. There were around three Stacey Abrams supporters with signs protesting abortion limitations and gun laws.
Why Glenn Youngkin?
In 2021, Glenn Youngkin won his election in a Blue State. Many tie his win to a string of controversies regarding education and the education system where there was heavy backlash against political and ideological teachings in schools in addition to lockdowns. One such controversy was a sexual assault that was covered up by the school due to its potential political consequences ( Teen charged with sexually assaulting student is accused of groping another (nbcnews.com). Politicization of the classroom is seen as a winning issue with the GOP as parents gawk at the idea of teaching children politically charged or sexually explicit lessons. This is seen in Florida where the Governor and Legislature passed their Parental Rights Law in 2021.
Program:
The following is a brief review of the event. For a full understanding, please play the audio linked at the bottom of the page.

He proceeded to state that his son questioned whether he would like to join the military given its new Woke policies. He also criticized Biden's decisions in Afghanistan, particularly the leaving of "90 billion dollars" of equipment and those leading up to the death of thirteen Americans. He further criticized the changed US policies comparing them to China's own and labeling them as Marxist. McCormick ended on wokeness in education calling it co-parenting with the government.

Kemp then spoke against the politicization of the classroom and indoctrination, protecting women's sports, making up for learning loss, and creating a teacher pipeline to fill jobs and help students catch back up.
At 3:55 Governor Kemp then introduced Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. The Virginia governor started by speaking on how Georgian spirit is that of hard work and winning. Next contrasting Virginia to Georgia, he spoke of how Virginia was locked down in nearly all aspects of life and how towns on the border of Tennessee would see be open just on the other side of the border. Youngkin put the responsibility for rising crime on Democratic Leadership and for children being locked out of school. He spoke on how Virginia was too blue for a Republican to win. Stacey Abrams spoke in Virginia, campaigning for his opponent and warning that Virginia could become like Georgia if he won, lamenting that wouldn't be such a bad thing. The Virginia Governor declared that progressivism has failed.
