Cumming Fairgrounds: Fair Nights Under Midway Lights 2022

Updated: Oct 8, 2022

The Fall Season is in full swing and the City of Cumming is hosting their annual Fair Nights under Midway Lights at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Here's what you should know.

Cumming Fairgrounds - 2021

Venue Information:

The Fairgrounds will be hosting the annual Fair Nights Under Midway Lights from October 6th to October 16th. Located just off of Castleberry Road, less than a mile south of the heart of the City (at Hwy 9 and Hwy 20), and accessible from GA 400 from exits 14 and 15, Cumming Fairgrounds offers over dozens of acres of land for a variety of events. It hosts rodeos, flee markets, food tastings, and others throughout the year.

Parking:

A recently paved parking lot is just across the street from the fairgrounds (Parking: https://goo.gl/maps/81g5PVzocSqeCZCb6) linked via a pedestrian bridge. There is also additional parking at the Castleberry Parking Garage (https://goo.gl/maps/3CqJH5abQNYu41bB6) and Town Square Parking Garage (Parking: https://goo.gl/maps/xzhfkjBKFbPzbZV96) about a half mile away when the main lot fills up. Drivers can expect heavier traffic and traffic pattern changes on Castleberry Rd as Police may direct drivers. Additional cones for pedestrian crossings have also been placed down north of the pedestrian bridge that briefly narrows the road from four to two lanes.

Event Information:

The Country Fair & Festival has various attractions that include Ferris Wheels, a Skylift, a Barnyard and Petting Zoo, a Haunted House (admission sold separately), Carousels, Bumper Cars, and more. There are also individual acts such as Magic, Art, and Stunt shows available for viewing on various dates during the fair. On the 7th, 11th, and 13th, Fairgoers can expect to hear concerts from country music artists such as Sawyer Brown, Tyler Farr, and Joe Nichols. Further off the beaten path, there is a Native American village that offers a brief history on Native Americans as well as displays. Also open for viewing are historical tractors from well established families in the area, such as McFarland and Webb.

Of course, what is a Fair without food? Visitors will have vast options to pick from. They include traditional options like pizza, burgers, and barbecue (from the local Williamson Brothers BBQ) with their associated sides. Also available are the ever anticipated sweets and fair foods like fried Oreos, slushies, ice cream, and funnel cakes.
